FIFA World Cup 2010 - A missed opportunity for tourism in South Africa

The World Cup in South Africa will soon be upon us and as with any global event like this there is immense public debate on how the preparations are going. For South Africa, the first time they have hosted the World Cup and the eyes of the world for them, perhaps with more control, even that of previous guests. It is a great opportunity to sell this great country and everything it has to offer internationalVisitors. The latest reports are that ticket sales are not as good as hoped, and some countries are qualified public concerns about safety reports for their teams and fans. South Africa has an enormous amount of money invested in the preparation stages and the introduction of infrastructure to ensure that games are enjoyed by all fans. Perhaps the concerns for potential buyers to join us the World Cup, the cost of accommodation and internalVols.

I am aware, the prices of domestic flights is 4 to 5 times their normal price for the period of the year offered. This means not only the fans but also people living in South Africa. In its wisdom the Government has decided that the national school holidays during the period of the World Cup. For working parents this is already enough problems, but if you look for vacation during this time you will come against them wereProblem that the fans are with - prices outrageous! There is currently an ongoing investigation, which will be a number of major airlines in South Africa for pricing - This situation is compounded by the total absence of flights during this period. I hope the government will receive at the beginning of this genre in this situation, as he probably put off for many fans.

The second area of concern is housing prices. At this stage, it should be noted that, according to Sydneyhosted the last Olympics, but also see a recovery in visitor numbers after the event there is a dramatic drop in tourist numbers for the next three years! Much of the decline in tourism is having on prices is made during the Olympic Games in accounting. The same phenomenon occurred in South Africa. many homeowners are paying 5 6 7 + times more than their normal rate. This short-term speculation, known as "planing" is ridiculous. The fans will be "uprooted" and it is so that manyto reach football fans to the decision not only in South Africa. It's a shame that the quality of the reception of guesthouses, B & B and self-owners will be offered in general much higher than in many other countries. Of course there will always be present, their corporate packages that will accommodate these high prices to keep customers, but for the average football fan is also a World Cup is that the load. What a shame if the country hasAs the fans during the breaks between games to offer. I really feel this will be a "missed opportunity" for the tourism industry in South Africa and that the site owners are the high prices they are charged with regret. I hope they will come to their senses, together with airlines and reduce their prices. Otherwise, how are the numbers coming from the World Cup to reach millions of approximately the first expected
